Yes, hello, it’s been a while, and we hope everyone is enjoying the luxuries of a widespread and healthy musical diet, we sure are. We’ve been off on our travels again across the country checking out some new musical delights the Great British Isles has to offer. Our HQ has no relocated back to the South West after checking out the London music scene. It brought a wealth of talent under the radar which we will be using in the future.
For now be on the look out for shows we will be unleashing in the South West and the array of musicians we have on the books ready to show you all.
FLOM are ready to unleash themselves on London with a series of one off gigs over the summer of 2011 . We’re taking all the london musicians, creatives and innovators we’ve met over the last year and creating some of the best live music nights out there!
There’s no better time to act than this moment in our lives to introduce a counter punch on the terrible churned up commercial crap we hear excreting itself out of our stereos, musical channels and televisions.
Let ‘For the Love of Music’ introduce you to real exciting music that is currently hitting the streets of London and soon afar, The Raw Roots Rat Pack growing in numbers and entertaining excited music goers across the capital with funky blues, folk, soulful and rockabilly grooves.
Bringing music back to it’s rawest form when it was exciting, fresh and full of meaning, these fellows sure are a breath of fresh air on the live music scene – and as 90’s sensations D:Ream once said – “Things can only get better” Check em out…..
We’re still going strong at the Bread and Roses in Clapham, South London. It’s becoming a popular night and we’re creating a great little music community.
We’ve got acoustic players, rappers, raw blues, rockers, harmonica players, instrumentalists, beatboxers, cajon players, impeccable singers, jams, lovely ladies, beer, photographers, video cameras and lovely bar staff !
If you fancy getting involved come give us your thumbs on here on facebook
This Wednesday 9th March 2011 we are continuing our trend of great live acoustic music in London. For the Love of Music and The Bread and Roses pub presents:
Video from our first night of the Acoustic Sessions @ The Bread and Roses Clapham
FLOM are now doing some regular live music promotion at the Bread and Roses, Clapham putting on Acoustic Sessions each Wednesday night, any acoustic musicians from London looking for a gig please contact us.
For the Love of Music will be putting on an Acoustic Sessions @ The Bread and Roses pub in Clapham. It is the first one and may evolve into a regular fixture. As we are based in South London and there is a distinct lack of venues in the SW4 and Clapham area we feel it is time to create a musical community that rivals that of North and East London.
The night is Wednesday 16th February, music starts at 7.30 pm and we have excellent acoustic tunage from some of Londons top artists, on the bill this time is FLOM regulars Strangely Famous, also Richard Soward, Paul Noels and our own Adam Taylor. The venue is located on Clapham Manor Street, see below for a map with directions to the venue.
It is a cool pub with an atmospheric interior and is run by the Battersea and Wandsworth Trades Union council which is a group of dedicated, mostly unpaid volunteers, who support local and international workers’ right campaigns from Wimbledon to Haiti, so it is a worthy organisation which FLOM are proud to be associated with.
Any musicians from the South London area reading this we are looking for people to play in the future so please contact us @ flomproductions08@gmail.com and we’ll put you on our database and contact you about playing a future show. View Larger Map
We can officially annouce our next show will be at The Workshop @ Road Trip bar in Old Street on Wednesday 10th November. Gem of an underground venue underneath the Road Trip bar perfect to house some chilled acoustic music, which is exactly what we are going to do. Music starts from 8pm and it is £3 entry. Click on the pictures below to see who’s playing and it’ll direct you to their music.
To get to The Workshop get out at Old Street tube station, walk east towards Shoreditch high street and it is on the left just past the firestation (feel free to hurl a bit of abuse at the lazy firemen on strike too)
