The first event is now completed! For the Love of Music is officially alive and I think we can all agree it was a great beginning to this new adventure. Our first gig was held at the Prince Leopold in Upton Lovell where we were all treated to a number of live musical acts. Our stage was situated in the Leopold’s beer garden with the River Wylye alongside, and a backdrop of rolling hills and scenic landscapes.

We started the night with Emma Lawson who performed a selection of pop hits and country favourites. With a strong voice and polished performance she kicked the evening off to a perfect start, and even had a singing along to some of the tunes!

Following Emma’s performance Taylor took to the stage, he performed some of his own original songs and a few covers, one of which was his own version of ‘Mama Mia’ by Abba where he induced a clap along from the crowd.

Next to the stage was Luke Marsden and Dan Williams, a duet who performed some old classics and original material in their own polished acoustic style. It was great to see a duo playing at the event providing the evening with some depth and variety.

Next up was the one and only Richie Madisun, blowing the audience away with his strong yet touching vocals. So strong in fact that he decided to bring himself closer to the audience by playing unplugged and moving his stool out of the tent! It was a unique touch to the gig, and created an intimate feel to his performance. His set included favourites ‘Outtacontrol’ and the infectious ‘Addiction’, and he put in a solid infectious performance.

To finish the night off, Luke Marsden again took to the stage with a selection of his own tunes and covers, again starting a sing-along. With a good voice and entertaining stage presence he finished the evening on an excellent note.

After the music the night moved to the bar where we enjoyed the remaining time drinking and socialising. The photos below picture the festivities.

Thank you to everyone that came and supported our first event. It was a great start, the revolution has started, continue checking back with us for regular updates and details on our next event. The 2nd podcast will be up in the next few days.
