Acoustic Show Success

August 17th, 2008

Well the first ‘For the Love of Music’ event @ The Prince Leopold got off to a great start, with some good acoustic acts gracing us with their musical presence. Running from 7 till 10pm the audience were treated to a collection of original songs and famous covers by some very polished performers. A BBQ laid on by the venue served up by our own temporary chef Dean for the evening went down very well and a good selection of alcoholic beverages from the bar helped get the weekend off to a party start!

So stay tuned as we collate the photographs, edit the special podcast and finish the gig reviews, we will be with you very soon!

First Podcast

August 5th, 2008

Hi guys, this is our first podcast check it out below,

Myspace Page

Ok so here’s the first FLOM productions’ gig: just off the A36 lies the village of Upton Lovell with a pub called The Prince Leopold which is the host for this event. The gig will be a chilled, acoustic session which will bring different styles of music together; you can expect to hear some reggae tunes, current chart hits with a twist, your favorite tracks and some unexpected new talent. It’s an opportunity to get to a completely different venue, hear some up and coming musicians with the ‘get up and go’ which seems to be missing at other gigs.

Now that may sound pretty good but when you throw in a BBQ and cheap drinks it sounds even better. The session opens at 7 and is an outdoor event so dress for the best British summer. Music will go on for about 3 hours and anybody talented enough to wield an instrument is welcome to have go, so we are all guaranteed an awesome show!

The overall atmosphere will be about doing something different, hearing something new and meeting other people. There is nearby parking available as well.

If you are a musician and want to play that would be great, sling us an email @ flomproductions08@googlemail.com or message us on MySpace www.myspace.com/flomproductions. If you have any other questions about this feel free to contact us whichever way you like, we love hearing from people, it’s nice.

Hopefully everyone reading this is passionate about music and having fun and will undoubtedly feel the same way as FLOM when it comes to having an awesome night.

Cheers and hope to see you there!!!!

When the idea of this event production organisation started swinging into motion, one of the main motivators for doing it was having a focal point, something big to aim for to create a stir and buzz in the community. The only thing it could ever be would be our own festival! Back in 2004 we saw the success of Mikeapalooza and ever since then year after year demand for the 2nd festival has always been high and a big talking point amongst local socialites. So throughout the year as these shows and events occur hopefully interest will intensify and a following of festival goers will have taken shape to come fill whatever field is used to house this amazing festival. So post some comments with your thoughts and ideas.

Circa 2004 the music community in the South around the Wiltshire/Hampshire area was at its peak with regular shows, gatherings and everyone in their element. Probably the most significant event was the festival Mikeapalooza where bands and party goers set upon the sleepy village of Boyton to celebrate the birth of our own Mike Dyer. This momentous occasion also celebrated everything magnificent the music community had thrown at each other over the past year and for the summer to come. September 2004 and the majority of the students had buggered off to University only reuniting on Christmas breaks and summer holidays. The adventure had died down and year by year this slowly decreased with commitments lying in new pastures.

On return from University with good grades and bad grades across the board, and travellers returning with worthy life experience many came back to find old pub stools they once sat on replaced with young folk starting their own journey.

This provoked a magical idea for the need to bring old times to new times. The revolution brings the community together again with new shows, gatherings, and most importantly the 2nd festival in summer 2009. FLOM brings it all to life and that little shove up the rear to get you all back in gear and bring everyone together. So what if you’re now a fulltime worker, so are we! But you should have more money now, and hopefully your weekends off too, so join us as we rejoice the new generation, bringing parties and music to a new level. Thank you and see you soon.
